What to Expect at Christmas Mass

What to Expect at Christmas Mass

When you attend Christmas Mass at Holy Redeemer you will experience one of the most joyful days on the Christian calendar. The church will be filled with a congregation of people cheerfully anticipating celebrating the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, not only in history but into our hearts today. You will find many families, some consisting of three and four generations all coming to worship together to celebrate the sacred day.

The Christmas 2018, Mass schedule is Monday, December 24, Christmas Eve at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM and Tuesday, December 25, Christmas Morning at 10:00 AM. Our choir will be singing a program of traditional Christmas music accompanied by the organ at the 4:00 PM Mass. At both the 6:00 PM Christmas Eve and 10:00 AM Christmas Day Mass a cantor, accompanied by the organ will lead congregational singing of a program of traditional Christmas carols.

Christmas Mass attendees can plan for the liturgy to last from about fifty minutes to one hour in length. In deciding on what Christmas Mass to attend please be aware that our 4:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass usually has the largest crowd. It is often standing room only. You might want to choose to attend a later Mass. The 10:00 AM Christmas morning Mass can be the best one for families with young children to attend. Children tend to be less excited at that hour on Christmas morning since they have already experienced their visit from Santa.

All of staff and parishioners of Holy Redeemer Parish joyfully anticipates sharing the joys and blessings of Christmas with you and you family this year.
